Image 1 shows the line token being handed over.
Image 2 is a Black Five returning to Rothley from Leicester North
Image 3 is a DMU at Loughborough,I like DMUs,very user friendly with loads of space and legroom.

I've done a monochrome version of image 2 which is on Flickr,I prefer that one,I think the colour version looks a bit"flat"

        Thanks Nigel,much appreciated.
The Black Five one was part of a burst with AI Servo and my Sigma 70-200.Rothley(pronounced roe-thly) is the best location for those types of shots.

Nice pics, good to see Roy. There’s nothing like a day at the railway!

Thanks Ian,it was enjoyable for a few reasons, not the least being that instead of my usual routine where I try to cram all four stations into the day,I stuck with just one,a short hop up the line.

Less stressful and time consuming, and being a Sunday a lot less crowded too. With the help of a porter I got a seat to myself in one of the empty buffet carriages.Same on the return leg, plenty of space in the DMU.
I'm going again this Sunday, just one stop up from Loughborough this time,to Quorn. One lens also,my 24-105L,less weight to lug around.

Always nice to see something from the Great Central.

Not been there since before Lockdown but it’s on the list for a day out sometime.

I was waiting until they opened up fully again Bob.Prior to that it was pre-booked compartments only, just a single journey starting at Quorn going to Leicester North with no getting off until back at the start.
I fully understood why they did it,but it didn't appeal at all.

It's nice to have the freedom again, and, handy for me being only a 25 minute bus ride away.

Thanks, that shot was the last of a burst sequence, and the only one where both of them had their hands fully on the token at the same time.

The chap in the cab was already smiling but then spotted me and looked straight at the camera.

I was going to go again tomorrow, but it will be far too hot for comfort, and apart from Loughborough station there's hardly any shady areas to be had.
