I picked up a Manfrotto Befree tripod on Thursday and am very pleased with it.
For anyone wanting the full specs, here is its website...

I got this as I wanted something small enough to pack in my bag when travelling and light enough to carry when out walking.
And it fits both criteria superbly. It collapses down very small, and is very light and easy to carry especially as it comes with its own carry case.
Whilst not the tallest tripod it does extend to a reasonable height, but its convenience outweighs the height constraint. And if I ever wanted a taller tripod for indoor work I'd look at something different in addition to this.
It's very well made and easy to put up, and the legs can be set in one of two angles for added flexibility.
The main centre shaft can even be removed and placed back in upside down for stable low shooting.
I am impressed with its stability, but a remote shutter release would solve any issue. (on my 70D the app on my iPhone fits the bill superbly.)
In summary it's not cheap, but I am pleased I got it as it has many benefits and advantages over some of the competition.
Small, light, stable and well built with convenient carry case.
