I tried to struggle my way through this but was mugwumped by all the technical stuff!
However the most important feature would seem to be the new sensor that ups the pixels from 20.4 MP to 24 MP - something that has been the continued gripe against the R6 mk1 ( although as a R6 user I have to say this doesn't bother me unless I have gone for a very heavy crop ) So now we have a nice compromise for those who want quality shots at higher ISO where the modest 24 MP should strike a good balance.
But I do suspect that the extra will be barely discernible to all except the most dedicated pixelpeepers
The other thing of interest is 40 fps- yes 40 fps!- with the electronic shutter. Frankly wading through 30fps is more than enough for most of us so I cant imagine where I need the extra....
There are a few other tweaks like horses being added to the animal detection list, although I suspect the camera will still struggle with a dark eye on a dark furred face. it's by no means perfect yet - nor should we expect it to be !
I am a big fan of the R6, and I am sure that the upgrade will be enough to propel it to the top of most folks' wish list as an all round performer, especially if you can afford a dedicated RF lens to marry it to
No idea of price and I certainly wont be rushing to trade in Mk 1 for Mk 2, but it does sound as if Canon have got it right here
