    Photogs Vests !

Anybody on here use a Photographers Vest/Jacket? If so; which one?

I will be travelling later in the year when I know that carrying a bag for some of the trip is NOT going to be possible...

I have the Lowepro Field-belt & pouches; but even they may well be non-useable...

    Cheers..

I have the Lowepro street and field vest and belt and probably ten different lens pouches, bottle holders, zip bags etc. I used it for a month or so and since then it has been at the back of a cupboard.

Since I started to specialise in wildlife, it doesn't really work with long lenses. It was very convenient to wear my gear, rather than carry it though.

        Hi Colin;

Thanks for that... strangely I never noticed that on Lowepro's site before... Might take a closer look, although it still looks too bulky for what I think I'll need! Not much different to the Field Belt system, apart from the shoulder strapping & body pouches...

I agree with your comment about stuff going into hibernation! I don't worry too much about that; it's always there if/when you need/want it again...

        Cheers...

Any one in particular; although I guess if it's a Kiwi brand; it'll be a non-starter here!

Hmmm, XL and XXL only? That'll be for the American market then!

You could try this from the same supplier: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=150381841491

All sizes seem to be available.

Have you ever thought about taking a jacket (eg denim material or camo type material) and getting a machinist to sew extra large pockets on the INSIDE.
I used to do alot of pub/band photography and this type of jacket(denim) worked a treat. Two camera bodies, two fast telephoto lenses and flashgun
plus half a dozen film canisters. All concealed on the inside. Not sure how you would accommodate Colins monsters tho.....?

Like ColinC I bought a 'photo vest' wore it once and never used it again. I had a Billingham Bag ... very nice ... but got in the way sometimes. Now have a range of backpacks depending upon what kit I'm carrying. Always a problem with DSLR's (why I carry a G10 when rambling) ... carrying the stuff ...

I'm assuming the 'cargo pants' will already be full of other stuff!

I have a mental image of me looking like the 'Michelin Man' if I do decide to go down this route; but I still think I'm gonna be strugglin' with a backpack...

                            Cheers...
