LCD screen protectors for touch screen DSLR's like the 100D & 700D

I have just received my 100D and as my usual practice I would like to fix an LCD protector. The ones I have always used are the very thin glass ones and i wonder whether I would negate the touch screen facility on the 100D if I use these glass protectors?

I have a 700D and according to the book it recommends you do not add a screen protector because of the touch screen aspects - I have therefore not yet tried but would be intrigued to find out this too Nat. I know I have screen protectors on my tablets and that doesnt negate the touchscreen but is there a difference somewhere?

I would imagine that if you buy a protector specifically for the 100D it will not affect any touch sensitivity.
Check the details before buying and read the reviews on somewhere like Amazon etc.

Thank you both Andys! I have ordered a bespoke LCD protector for the 100D- not my usual glass ones and I will let you know. I use all my equipment at regular invervals,depending on what I am photographing but I try to protect them where possible esp the LCD screen. I might mention that my smart mobile phone's instructions too states not to use any protectors but I have fixed a very think plastic screen on it and there is no problem with it's touch screen facility.

P.S. Coming to think of it, I believe that Andy Cyberman could be right as a protector specifically for the 100D should be OK.

Thought I might give an update on this. I have bought a set of 6 thin plastic screen protectors from a German Company-http://www.protectionfilms24.com- at a princely cost of £1.66 post free. For those who want a more thicker LCD protector, there is the LARMOR GCS optical glass which costs approx £17 from the Canon shop ,and it is £12.95 via Ebay post free. Both of these work very well with the touch screen LCD's.

There is also the bonus aspect for those using these protectors; when you come to sell your camera, it shows prospective buyers that the camera has been carefully used.

Andy, I am sure you will find it a very worthwhile investment bearing in mind that touch up LCD screens take the brunt of finger marks when one changes menus etc.
