    Help choosing a tripod

I am looking at replacing my cheap Manfrotto MKC3-H01 tripod with a more sturdy tripod but the array of choices is starting to give me a headache.

My budget is going to be around £200. I am 6ft 4in so would like one that is comfortable to use. Ideally I would like the option to have the legs that can be adjusted at different angles.

    Can anyone please help?

I can only recommend the Tripod that I use and take everywhere. It is the Promaster xc525. It is sturdy and light weight making it very easy to carry on our walks or packing it to travel. I also use the Promaster pistol grip

        Hi Paul,
I'm in exactly the same position as you, and my Manfrotto MKC3 is struggling.
I've just ordered a 3-section Manfrotto 055 aluminium, which with a 496 ball head comes in at just £200. It looks excellent, but I haven't had chance to try it out yet. I'll let you know after using it if it's any good

Hi Paul, I am 6ft so understand the need for a decent sized tripod.I got the new style Manfrotto 4 section 190 tripod and have been very pleased with it, you should be able to find that in your price range.

Hi Paul, I have the Manfrotto O55XPROB (with the 804RC2 head, which isn't the same as shown in the video below). I think it may have been superseded now, but although it's quite a hefty tripod, I'm still delighted with it. The carbon fibre models will be lighter, so they're worth considering.

                Hi Paul,
Just as a follow-up to my earlier post, I've had a play with the 055 and it appears excellent. Very stable and solid, and a world away from the MKC3. The model I have is the MT055XPRO3, which is the cheapest in the range at around £150 without head.
                Very impressed so far :)
