    Photographic Background Support

I have been asked to do some family portrait shots, but looking around indoors, I couldn't see a suitable area of plain wall to use as a backdrop.

So I had a look at some backdrop support stands. Nothing too expensive or fancy, as it will probably be along time before it is used again.

    Found this one on Amazon:

    at £23.29 including delivery.

It arrived yesterday, I have to to say that for the price, I'm quite impressed. Lightweight aluminium construction, quick and easy to assemble, sturdy enough for the job, and all packs away in a carry-bag.

It looks like I must have bought the last one, as I note that it is now currently out-of-stock.

Bought a 'cheapo' single non-fitted light blue bed sheet to use as the background, and all ready having two off-camera flashes, I reckon we are 'good to go'.

I put two hooks into the ceiling, bought some heavyweight black fabric and a extendable curtain pole from the local "you name it, we sell it" shop, my wife hemmed the material and put a loop in the top - now we have a backdrop that can be hung very easily and just stick it in the cupboard when it's not in use - cost? About £23 funnily enough - but that doesn't include the hooks and rawlplugs as I already had them lying about.

I've been looking for something like that myself Dave. Like you I didn't want to spend loads as it will mostly in its bag.

As you have now run the stock out, send it my way when you're done please mate.

          (That's £23 saved lol)

I use a similar bed sheet but they take some ironing to get the creases out. Just make sure you position your subjects as far forward as possible to avoid showing the creases that are left. I used mine for last weeks studio shoot with Noah my grandson

It looks that way, doesn't it? In actual fact it was my wife who wanted the background and it was my design, so I have one over her! :-)
