Thanks Tony, didn't realise two of the legs are padded to make carrying on the shoulder a lot more comfortable, itching to get out and give it a go, but not really recovered enough yet. I might drive to a local hide where I don't have to walk far to try it out on the Kingfishers.Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way

Gave the outfit a test today, walked about a mile with it on my shoulders, have to say it is easier to carry than I thought and sat in a hide it was also pleasant to use. I can certainly recommend the gimbal to anyone considering one, you can get on with shooting images and it doesn't get in your way. I didn't really try to use it on flying birds but panning is simple and I'm sure it will do the job, I hope to get out again later in the week to see if the local Ospreys are back from their holidays.Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way

Glad it's working up to your expectation, you can add a strap to aid carrying it :) so happy you are on the mend as well.
