    Which compact would you recommend?

Looking for a small compact camera to carry every day on local walks. If I find anything interesting, I could go back with my R7.
    Any recommendations?

Not sure there's many options these days, I think most people now use their phones rather than a dedicated compact.

Canon's range, what there is of it, is here...

    Best of luck.

Thanks. I must admit I used my iPhone 14 Pro more on our holiday in Lisbon last year than my 90D. The compacts I have been looking at are mostly out of stock. Perhaps they are telling me not to waste my money!

Compacts always used to be the entry camera to get into camera photography, now phones with really good cameras are cheaper to buy and use. Such a shame. Good to see you on here again Jan.

I agree with the above, phone cameras are brilliant these days. I've got the Google pixel 6a and that shoots in RAW, didn't think that was possible for a phone when most compacts only shoot in Jpeg.

I hope I don't get hate for saying this here but I've got a Fuji compact that we take on holidays and it's a cracking little camera, fully shockproof and it's also fully waterproof up to 25metres deep so we take it snorkeling and stuff. Great when I don't want to risk taking my DSLR out on holiday and drawing attention to myself for potential theft etc.

Hope you manage to find something to your liking though.

Thanks, I sometimes use my old Panasonic Lumix TZ40, especially for macro, but sky's are washed out. My iPhone 14 pro is much better. Think I will stick with that.
