    Wide angle lens for 60D

My most used lens is a Canon EFS 17-85mm 1:4-5..6 IS USM
I need a wide angle lens.
Is it worth paying for a Canon 10-22mm or is the Sigma 8-16mm a better bet?
Also where can I find the best price?
    Thanks Mick.

I have the Sigma 10-20 which is cheaper than the canon & the sigma 8-16, and is a cracking lens. Used by several other forum members as well.

Looks good, is it compatible with the Canon auto focus?

What is the main application for a wider than 17mm lens?
What more could you achieve with a UWA (Ultra Wide Angle) lens?
What or where are you thinking that needs a wider lens?

I would ask myself questions like that before spending.
The Sigma 10-20mm is a popular lens as is the Canon 10-22mm, I'd also take a look at the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 lens.

If you do go for a UWA lens i cam recormend the Sigma 10-20 mm.

Yes, indeed. I use the Sigma 10-20 with both the 60d & 600d. However, bear in mind that with all super wide angle lenses, it is a "difficult" lens to use for newbies. I am still on a learning curve with this lens.

                Thanks for the advice.
The main reason for wanting a wide angle lens is to take pics of electrical installation works we carry out in domestic premises.
At the moment the Sigma 10-20mm looks favourite.
