Do we know if the radio on the 600-ex is compatible to PW or anything else? It would be a shame to have yet another proprietary system

Looks rather tasty.
I'm in no hurry to upgrade my 5D2 as I still think its the bee's knees

Although it seems a little higher spec than the MKII, at £2.999 (Callumet) Canon are pricing some of their new releases above all but the rather well off hobbyist. prices will fall over the coming months I presume

I read that the intention is that the MKII and MKIII will be maintained as current models side by side....MKIII is very expensive relatively in terms of bang for your buck!

Just had a read - looks like it's only compatible with the 600ex rt so you'd have to buy new flashguns.
I think they should release a rx unit to make the new ste backward with 580 430 11 etc - doubtful though.

I still think my 5D1 is the bee's knees, it just takes images. If you intend to take video with the 5D2 or 3 it means spending more money on additional equipment. ( And probably a more powerful computer ) Having said that the 5D3 does sound like a great bit of kit. It will probably give a few pro togs a lot of food for thought, will it be the 1DX or the 5D3.

I think it sounds excellent but at the price has moved away from enthusiast prosumer into the realms of Pro user. Even after the rush and the price comes down it will be around £1k more than the mk II.
