Ds Mk11 - attempting to set white balance. Going thru the procedure, shoot white card select WB in menu, select white card image, error message "unselectable image" WHY? ;-(

Foggy, as mentioned trying to set white balance on a given lighting set up
using the procedure set out in the manual. when I select the "white cards image" the error message "unelectable image" appears on screen

Hmm , I still think this due to the image taken of the card .
Does it work if you shoot the card in raw image mode (this has no JPEG style settings applied) ?Comment

As far as I know 1 series cameras have a feature the stops you from using an unsuitable image for WB.
Eg an over exposed one. It would be very easy for you to test.
