Add original decision data function

I have this custom function set to ON in my DSLR's, I’m assuming it’s benign. However, has anyone ever used the (expensive) Canon software to validate the CR2 as ‘original’ (i.e. unmodified) for whatever reason?

I guess my thinking is, should I ever take a once in a lifetime photograph that has commercial value having this ‘digital hash’ gives the image some authenticity.

George most people don’t buy it because they’d never really need it.
It’s more likely some specific types of client’s would have this. A client that needs to check if an image had been Doctored.

On the question of the “digital hash” to authenticate an image.

Isn’t it enough that you can actually produce larger high res CR2 or other format, and the tealeaf couldn’t if they nicked it off the Internet?
