5D MK 2 Senor Mark on Image

    Hi All

My new 5D MK 2 seems to have a fault on the senor, see attached photo. I have tried a different lens and it is just the same.

    Any advise

    Regards

Buy a blower like the Giottos Rocket Blower, well under £10.00 from most places.
alternately send the camera to Canon for servicing/cleaning, well worth the experts doing it.
Canon EOS R6 Mark II, Canon RF 100-500mm f4.5-7.1L, Canon RF 24-105mm f4L
Please note: I do not have or use Photoshop

If you do decide to go along the blower route remember to have the camera pointing down. Also check your camera manual for how to clean (manually) the sensor. From memory it calls for a fully charged battery. Lots of how to videos on the Internet.

Get an Arctic Butterfly and do the job properly.
        Cheers

        Oh Lord won't you buy me a 300mm F2.8L (or at a push, a 200-400 F4).

          Get an Arctic Butterfly
Silly name, but a very effective device.

Yep arctic butterfly for me as well - don't like blowing debris around - whatever the method have the camera pointing down!

Like was said above. Invest in the arctic butterfly, view some you tube videos, cause with a DLSR, this is the 1st of many dust particles that will land on your sensor as you exchange lens.

              Happy Cleaning & shooting

I agree with what has been said.
looks like a very small hair has got in when changing lenses, always change lens with camera body lens mount pointing to the floor.
I have never used an arctic butterfly but they seem to be highly rated.
I am sure Canon do a free sensor clean in the first year.
I had specks on my Canon 30D and they did not charge anything.

Eos mag sell a great sensor cleaning brush that is much cheaper than the arctic . I use it all the time and it works a treat. Sorry forget what they call it. Get used to digital retouching of images though as you will never entirely avoid the odd speck or two appearing where dust manages to fiind it's way onto the sensor.

Just looked it up and they simply call it a sensor cleaning brush-£23- worth every penny in my experience .

Well worth the cost and it works.
