My friend has just been given a 300d, does any one know what the maximum capacity card she can use in the camera?

Re: Canon 300d Card size Quick question
I have just looked at the manual and there is no maximum size mentioned.
The manual can be downloaded from my thread here
I would suggest a reasonably fast CF card to prevent lagging.Canon EOS R6 Mark II, Canon RF 100-500mm f4.5-7.1L, Canon RF 24-105mm f4L
Please note: I do not have or use Photoshop

Re: Canon 300d Card size Quick question
8GB unless there's a firmware update I don't know about... except...
My understanding is the 300D can't format a card to more than 8GB, so if you put a 16GB card in and format it you'll get an 8GB partition and 8GB of unused space.
HOWEVER I also understand if the card is formatted elsewhere it can use more than that.
Also, allegedly, cards over 2GB work more slowly, as the firmware handles the FAT32 file-system less well than FAT16.
Summary - I'd say get 8GB ones. Preferably from a known reliable brand like Sandisk, Lexar, Transcend, Integral...
