Exposure level indicator - how to change it

This should be an easy one ! I'm in the south of France at the moment and all of a sudden when I have my eos 600d in either Tv or Av mode, instead of the usual shutter speed or fstop setting being highlighted with the green box which can then be altered by the little wheel it displays the exposure level indicator with the green box around it.

I am pretty sure that I have probably pressed a button somewhere but I cant work out how to correct it.

    Any suggestions please?

    Darren

Hi Darren, have you tried pressing the Q button, then navigating to the other settings?

Where abouts are you in the south of France? We'll be in the Dordogne next moth ... we can't wait.
    Canon EOS 5D Mark III, EF 135mm F/2 L, EF 16-35mm F/4 L, EF 50mm f/1.8, EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM, EF 28mm f/2.8

      Thanks andy

You are correct in that the Q button does take me to the desired setting but not permanently, it reverts back to the above after taking a photo. Although the heat might be effecting me a little ! This wasn't the case a few days ago, if I was on av then f setting was highlighted and if I was on tv then it was shutter speed without pressing the Q button.

I am in Sillans la cascade over the other side, day trip to monaco yesterday - fantastic

      Thanks

OK, navigate to the f setting and once it's highlighted press the set button. Turn the camera off and on, then see if the f stop alters when you turn the dial.

Just tried that but as soon as the camera is turned off it just reverts back to the exposure level. I am also tried resetting the camera settings but that didn't help.

          Any other ideas ?
