    EOS 6D

After a great deal of deliberation & comparisons with other models I have finally taken the plunge and got the 6D with 24-105L Kit to replace my beloved 40D. Looking at my photography - landscapes, portraits and working with my art group, I soon realised that the 6D was my best choice.

A trip to the always welcoming London Camera Centre in Nottingham to have a play, plus £300 off, free Lightroom 5, Adobe Premiere and Battery Grip together with an excellent trade-in deal brought the cost within budget & made the decision fairly easy. Only having 1 EF-S lens helped.

First impressions are very good - all I now need is some sunshine or I'll be testing the low light focus capability too often!

Congratulations on your acquisition Bob! I'm sure you'll be absolutely delighted with the 6D, I find it superb for anything static, and no slouch with moving things either

I thought the deal was Adobe Photoshop Elements (plus the grip/Lightroom), Premiere is Adobe's video-editing application.

It's one of the best cameras that I have used - even though I haven't used many of the functions available.

          Enjoy

Nope - it's Premiere Elements. Lightroom is V5 which I updated to 5.2 after installation.

I stand corrected! I suppose bundling LR and PSE is to a degree doubling-up, but LR/PRE does give both photo and video editing facilities.

Sounds like you made a great move on all but one item... Sunshine in the U.K. in Autumn - yeah right (okay, I need to go re-shoot something with a bluer sky, so the weather could be out to get me right now...)

The 6D is still Canon's best sensor, so I'm pretty sure once you get over the lack of sunlight you'll be very happy. The 24-105 is also IMHO a great walk-around lens...
