    Experiences with the EOS 70D?

Are there members who use the EOS 70D camera? A colleague told me that this is the "top of the crop" of Canon camera's.
Is that true? And why is this? Or not?
    With kind regards,
    Friso

    It depends...

As an owner, I think the handling, frame rate and AF modes of the 7D make it a better camera than the 70D, in spite of the newer sensor in the 70D. Others who don't want or need 8fps or the additional AF modes may think the reverse. The 70D is certainly the newest, whether that makes it the "top of the crop" is debatable.

I have a 70D, and it's a great camera. Focus and exposure are superb, and it's easy to use.
I cannot speak for how it compares to the 7D though.
The sensor is excellent, I got some great images out if it.
The only reason I upgraded to 5D Mark III was because I wanted to go full frame and was fortunate enough to have the funds to do it.

I would not say the 70D is 'top of the crop', but it's certainly up there. My 5D is better as far as I'm concerned though.

But compared to the other crop camera's of Canon, is the 70D then the top of the crop? Until there is a newer one?

So the question is whether as a crop sensor it's top of the crop.
I reckon that with its sensor and other features it is possibly the best crop (APS-C) camera in the Canon portfolio.
It has a good weight and feels solid.
But to be fair it is possibly one of the most expensive crop/APS-C camera in the prosumer lineup.

Cameras can be a bit 'marmite' though, and I am sure that whilst I really like it others may dislike it for some reason or other.

The auto focusing in movie mode is superb.
