Thanks gents, been playing with my new camera today but I've got to be honest there are a lot more features than my old 400D, I've bought a couple of books, one dedicated to the 70D so I'll have my head buried in that for the next few days, we're going up to the East Yorkshire coast on a farm, and near a little place called Ulrome, well within walking distance of the beach and teaming with wildlife and I'm reliably informed by the farmers wife theres a badgers set and a foxes den on their land, just hope the weather behaves itself, few early mornings might net some good pics, fingers crossed.

Thanks Tigger, I've been on there and found some really good things but as a back up plan I bought the expanded guide to the EOS 70d by David Taylor which has a lot more helpful jargon busting info than the supplied handbook, one thing I've also found is the camera isn't compatible with my iPad, so it looks like I'm going have to buy an iPhone now, oh well one door opens another one slams shut in your face lol.

David Taylor is a very good choice IMHO. I myself use his books for my 6D & G15.

agree with the book - when I got my 7D thats what I did - with the Iphone, you really should wait till September if you can as the new Iphone 6 will be coming out and you can either get a new mobile or pick up a secondhand one as loads of people will be upgrading that chase new Iphones
