    Original 5D vs 6D?

    Hi there,

Having started way back in the 35mm film days with a Canon A1 followed by T90 I took the plunge to digital when the 10D came out. I upgraded to the 20D but only had that a couple of months before the 5D was released and I jumped on that because I could never get used to the 1.6 crop factor on either body.

I bought a 7D in 2011 mainly for the 'extra reach' to film the last shuttle launch in July of that year but have never really used it preferring to reach for the 5D every time.

There are many features on the 7D that I find it difficult to live without but the photos I have taken never seem to match the 5D and I much prefer full frame in any case.

My ideal camera would be the MKIII (or MKIV if/when it comes out :) but I have been thinking about the 6D recently.

Feature-wise I would love Wi-Fi and having taken many snaps over the years with various iPhones really like the GPS location feature that the 6D also has.

However my ultimate priority has to be image quality followed by handling and I was wondering how the original 5D Classic compares to the 6D?

Being half the price of the MKIII is also leading me by the nose a bit...

Googling 5D vs 6D brings up hundreds of 5D MKIII vs 6D comparisons but nothing vs the original 5D.

Would anyone here who might have been down this road care to share their experience please?

    Thanks & kind regards,
    -=Glyn=-

I'm sure you will have many on here who will vouch for the fact that the 6D is a big step up from the original 5D ( mk1). I have included a link below to David Clas review of the 6D ( Davd normally shot with the 1DX). I think you will find he gives a very balanced view of the pro and cons of the 6D.
    Hope this he's
