      I don't think the problems were confined to just the early models, as my 7D came with the latest firmware (2.0.5) installed, and when tracking local marathon runners, it was all over the place. It's possible that a previous user had fiddled with the CFns whilst it was on demo duty in my local John Lewis PLC, but all of the settings looked OK. However, to cover the Tour of Britain, I took my 1D Mk IV, and that simply delivered without fuss. I really ought to do some fault finding on my 7D, as it has produced some good results, even when tracking birds.
