Hard to say. Do you need to use EOS Viewer? Will a card reader and other software not do what you need?

with the eos viewer it has the option mode where i can do time lapse from the pc at all different times
i grow orchids and breed tropical butterflies ,so it comes in handy

The eos viewer stopped on the 5D also

Have you moved to Windows 7 or reinstalled the eos viewer software?

              Try updating the software?

                    Re: 20d and software

Sometimes even after you've reinstalled software (e.g. EOS Suite) USB devices still seem reluctant to be recognised (I've just been guiding someone through a similar issue ... not a camera but some other USB gizmo). Firstly I'm assuming the USB device is SUPPORTED on the target Operating System.

This is akin to Ninja stuff; so move (rename) C:\windows\inf\infcache.1 to C:\windows\inf\infcache.1OLD This causes Windows to do a better job getting a USB device to be recognised (in lay terms).

I would recommend you read Microsofts stuff on infcache.1 before you even think about doing this. If you are in any way not happy then don't do it. You can always put the original file back. You can always do a restore point before embarking on this!

                      Hi tomus
As far as I can remember the correct version of EOS Utility for the EOS20D and EOS5D is ver 2.73
Newer version`s will not work correctly with these camera`s
If you have a newer version installed it will have to be removed and replaced with ver 2.73 which you can download from the Canon website.
                      Cheers
