The following link is where I got my 1.2.5 firmware update, but it doesn't seem to be working at the moment. http://www.canon.co.uk/Support/Consu...ownload&page=1

Maybe they've found a glitch in the new update? I hope not as I'v updated mines too.

              Well my 7D started talking:

I’m feeling much better now firmware 1.2.5 is inside me
I honestly think you ought to sit down calmly, take a stress pill and think things over
Just what do you Think your doing?
I see you’re really upset about this
              I’m afraid. I’m afraid
My mind is going. I can feel it
There’s no question about it. I can feel it

Oh dear it's now singing to Noink Remix of Daisy Bell.

That's really funny. I do wonder what they found since it went up and down again in 24 hours. Or maybe someone wasn't supposed to post it yet.

Curious! Why do so many people instal updates the moment they become available, not just camera's . I always work on the basis of if it works dont meddle

Because we (well my team, not normally me) ask our customers reporting a problem 'Is all your software and firmware at the latest level' ... so I for one have to eat my own dog food (as our marketing men would say).

If there's one thing microsoft has taught me, it would be that equipment and software is released with glitches, therefore I for one like to have the latest firmware on board all my equipment.

                        Re: 7d firmware

This is a weird one. A couple of weeks ago the latest version was 1.2.3. Then there were one two mentions of 1.2.4 being installed on cameras sent for repair. As far as I know this was never available as a download. Then when I was at work last week I saw 1.2.5 on Canon's site. I was going to post it here when I got home, but by then it had gone.

                        Some more about it here
                        Cheers

                        Oggie

                        Oh Lord won't you buy me a 300mm F2.8L (or at a push, a 200-400 F4).

Phew ... thought I was being too clever for a brief moment and would have had to hide my head in a large brown paper bag ;-)

I should really let firmware quiesce on the hosting site for a few days before I grab a copy.
