Registering a battery on the 5D

Hi All,

I've just bought a Canon 5D and a 7D. I noticed that you can register batteries with them, so the battery's conditiion can be memorised. I have, altogether, five batteries, which are all genuine Canon. They can all be registered apart from one. This one wont register in either cameras. Can anyone shed any light please.

If you are certain they are genuine then it sounds like the (in battery) chip isn't working. So take it back and get a replacement.

Hi MX5,

I bought two batteries together. Both came in a box with the hologram and plastic seal on. One of these works fine, the other one can't be registered. They look identical, so I guess it might be the chip. I'll pop it back as suggested.
