Can any one help me please.
I have used an EOS 5D for about 3 years and I now have an EOS 5Dmk2 . I have found that my.
Metz 58-1 C digital flash and my canon speed light will not work properly on it when using the canon off camera lead. . It over exposes shots and the flash companion kicks in and overexposes when I change an exposure in Manuel.

Alan,

I don't know about the Metz unit but your Canon Speedlite will need to to an 'EX' designated unit to work with your 5DII - 'EZ' speedlites are not compatible with EOS digital cameras. If it all worked fine with your original 5D, try cleaning thne contacts on the off-camera lead.

Hi Bob thanks a lot for your help
my speed light is a cannon 430EX if that’s any help. I went to a friend and tried it out on his D5 Mk2, with his lead and it happened the same. Even mixing and match the different pieces of kit did not help.
