40D not saving settings

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

My 40D goes back to the factory setting each time it is turned off. I have replaced the little battery ( a 2016 duracel) but it made no difference. Is it broken - is it time I replaced the old and faithfull camera?

I have a well used 40D and touch wood I've never had a problem, I hope you don't need an expensive repair.

When you say back to factory settings do you mean things like it turns the AF beep on and changes your image quality settings from Raw to Ljpeg ( just giving examples)

Do you mean the C1/C2/C3 settings? ... which do need you to save them.

Found the problem - was the battery not in properly. Pushed until it clicked and it all worked - hurrah!!

I love a happy ending :-)
Now you deserve spend the money you may have considered having to spend on a replacement camera or repair bill, on something more pleasant.
