    580 EX Batteries

I have just gone to use my 580 EX flash and the batteries were flat. I put a new set of Duracell plus power batteries into it last week and it has had little use. I have been using it in manual mode connected to a wireless flash trigger but don't suppose I've fired it more than 30-40 times on full power. I have tested the batteries that came out and they are all flat, that said I got four new ones out (from the same bulk pack) and put them on my meter and none of them went into the 'good' zone, they all hovered just on the edge of good/bad. The batteries that I took out of the flash were quite warm as well. Is any of this normal when using the flash in manual or do I have a faulty flashgun

    Thanks

Megalot I suspect the problem you have is with the batteries rather than the flash, there is a lot of posts regarding which batteries are best for flashgun use have a look at this one LINK

I hope it is your batteries, good luck.
