Flash for the Canon G11

Has anyone had experience of using either the Speedlite 270EX or the Speedlite 430EX II with the G11 please? One local dealer recommends the 270 as the best (compact) flash for the G11 whilst the other recommends the 430EX II! The 430EX seems nearly as big, if not bigger than the G11 camera itself! Would value your comments.

Any of them would be a significant improvement over the built-in flash. You will get better range from ther 430, but the 270 will cost a lot less. I have comfortably used a 580EX II on a G10 and a G6 and the 430 is smaller than the 580.

If your budget is reasonable, go for the 430, but either is more than adequate.

I recently bought a 270EX for my G11 and it gives perfect balance, I like it.
