    Canon 550EX

    I am considering buying a Canon 550Ex flash gun,at a very sensible price, to go with my Yongnuo flash gun. I do now know whether the 550Ex is compatible with my Canon 6D?

    For whatever said and done I find the Yongnuo 56511 flash gun which I have got is 1 stop lower in the flash output which was confirmed by our friend PaulSTW some time ago.

        Nat, I haven't purchased a flash yet but when I enquired I was told any Canon 'EX' will work on an EOS camera.

          Neil,

          I have got one flash- the Yongnuo 565ex11 and although it serves my purposes as a fill in flash I have noticed that it's power output is approx 1 stop lower than the Canon equivalent. Hence my thoughts of going back to Canon flashguns as I wish to do a bit more flash photography just to widen my genre. At the same time I don't wish to spend a bomb on a flash gun until I am sure that I like flash photography.

              My 550EX works fine on the 6D. (and the 100D, but that combination is a little top-heavy)
              Note that somebody has just put up a couple for sale on this forum.

                Thanks Martin. I have seen the member's advert and wondering whether I'd be better off buyng the Yongnuo 600RT ,new,at about tne same price quoted by the member. This I am told is much more powerful than the Yongnuo 565ii which I have got.
