    70-200 F4 IS new or a 70-200 2.8 IS used on a 7D

    Please help!

I have read so many conflicting reports that I don't know what to do

The lens would be used for mainly sports and motor sports

Does anyone out there really know?

    I currently have a new 7D body.

    Many thanks

    Gordi

For that use, and provided you're comfortable with the weight, the faster lens will probably be a better bet, depending on the condition of the used lens, of course.

As Woolley said if it's in good nick, the 70-200 2.8 every time.

Another shout for the 2.8 - why? because you will get a lot better results when you decide to use it with an extender. Simples ;-)

With a 1.4 extender you still have an f4 and if the light is good a 2x works quite well and gives you a f5.6
