    Sigma 8-16mm

I'm seriously contemplating the purchase of the Sigma 8-16mm as I'm a lover of wide-angles, but I'm not entirely sure as it's not that much wider than my Sigma 10-20mm (Only 2mm, but that's around 20% more image real-estate!) and the lack of the ability to attach any filters is a pain.

I just wondered whether anyone has this lens, and what their feelings are for it?

    Thanks!

    Re: Sigma 8-16mm

Reviews say this is a "very sharp" lens.
The lens hood is fixed which helps with protection of the bulb-like front element, the lens cover fits the lens hood.
All-in-all this lens looks very good for a UWA lens.

      Re: Sigma 8-16mm

Looking into options a little further, I've rediscovered the Samyang 8mm f/3.5 which is around half the price of the Sigma 8-16mm and offers a Fish-Eye image rather than the rectilinear image of the Sigma and as such offers something a little different to the 10-20mm I already have.

      It's all so tempting....
