I had no idea it was this sharp...
No use to me, as I shoot full-frame or non-Canon, but it's a 80-240 f2.8 equiv for APS and sub-£700 (well, on Amazon, didn't look widely) so maybe worth a look? It is quite large/heavy for an APS-only lens, but perhaps that's what helped the performance.
