I've been toying with 17-40 f4 for group and corporate portraits, usually groups of at least two and quite often a table full of people. It'll be used on the 1D, anybody used one and recommend it? Or should I be looking at an alternative from Tamron or sigma? I should add I'll be using flash with it so not too concerned about the lens not being f2.8.
