    Tokina 28-70 f2.6-2.8 Good buy?

Looking for advice with regards to this lens please.

    http://www.mpbphotographic.co.uk/use...o,-canon-fit-1

or would the Tamron 17-50 2.8 lens be better? I will be looking to use it as a walk around lens for landscapes and portraits aswell as a wedding it would be replacing my canon 17-85.

Has anyone used either of these lenses that can provide their views on which would be better. I can't afford to pay for a canon 17-50 2.8 lens so that one is out of the question.

The Tamron zooms are not that good, better to get a Canon 15-85mm or use the Canon 17-85mm that you have.
Save a little longer for the Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 IS as this is a great lens, the others really need stopping down to get the best from them.

    hope it helps

I have to disagree with Stephen's statement.

        I swapped my Canon 17 - 85 for a Tamron 17 - 50 2.8 non-VC. I did this after reading numerous reviews. Optically it equals the Canon 17 - 55 at a third the price.

        Wouldn't touch the Tokina
