    Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro DX - any good

I am toying with the idea of getting one of these as a wide angle for my 7D.

Or is the 12-24 F4 a better bet?

Anyone got any comments good or bad about this lens please?

I used to have it for my old 7D it's a pretty awesome combo. I used it all the time, however, soon felt annoyed with doing landscapes as it makes everything very small at 11mm. 900m munroes reduced to mere mole hills on screen lol.

    For example

Cruachan Hills at Loch Awe. Several 900-1000m hills. Don't look it.

This is more like what it's for. Closer, wider views of things.

This was couple of feet from the closest rock

Don't buy it if you are thinking about selling it on. I bought mine and kept it for several months and then tried hard to sell it. no one wanted it and it ended up going for peanuts on ebay.

I've been using one for about a year now on my 7D and I'm pleased with the results -

cheers spoil my day ;o) - I was thinking about selling it, maybe I'll just offer the 7D with lens rather than body alone
