    Focus problem

I am experiencing poor focusing when extending beyond about200mm with my 70-300 4-5.6 IS lens. Is there a way of matching the lens to the body (50d in my case) using camera settings that may improve the focus ?. Or is this a weakness with this particular lens ?.

Have a look at this post LINK it may help. The 50D does have AF Micro adjust capability (match lens to body), here's a link to Canon USA site which exlains what/how etc LINK.

It may also help if you could post an image that you have taken and unhappy with, as sometimes the focus issues can be the setting used for capturing the image rather than an issue with the equipment. I hope this helps.

Many thanks for your reply Peter, the link is very informative. I discovered the lens was rear focussing, so by making some adjustment in the settings was able to achieve improved results.
