    Canon EF 100-400mm

I'm excited. Just won my bid for a Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM Lens for $940 (598.71 pounds) plus free shipping. Now I need to sell my EF-70-300 L to pay for this purchase before the wife has my head.

I surprised you didn't wait a while Tom, once the Mk II hits the shops I think the 2nd hand price could tumble

Sorry Paul, but it's snowing and raining here so the cows are a bit dirty today. As for the softness, they look sharp in LR so it might be caused from the upload to Photobucket.

Possibly. I do like the first cow (cattle?) shot. I'd be happy with one of those eating my grass.

I've heard that it also sucks in dust - again I haven't experienced this at all

Well done Tom. How do you find the balance of the lens (hand holding with your 100D? Since the 100D is so light, I might venture out with a long lens attached to it as I need only be concerned with the weight of the lens.

Hi Nat. I didn't find a problem with the palace as I tend to hold the lenses using the tripod holder on the lenses so most of the weight is balanced on the tripod holder.
