Re: First shots with Sigma 150-600

Yep I think that will be a tripod only job stan ,going to give it a try out myself at this weekends high tide on the dee estuary ,while on that subject another contact who has one says he is getting even sharper results with the stabiliser left switched on while on the tripod ,which obviously goes against normal and sigmas advice

I did find that there was a bit of movement when looking through the viewfinder even on the tripod but with the extreme focal length that is hardly surprising so the stabiliser would probably help.

Very impressive stan and thanks for showing us. I recently saw a magazine suggesting a new 600mm tamron (00-600) cant find the article wife must have filed it. Anyway article got me wondering what us mortals could afford , these examples really help.

The tamron has been out for a year now alun ,150-600 ,the sigma version is only just coming on to the general market but is far superior in every way

few of us, myself included, could never afford or justify the cost of the big Canon L primes, ie 500, 600 etc, but the Sigma is a very affordable alternative

These are certainly sharp images Stan, just trying to read where the blue tit was ringed!

difficult on a small image - zooming on the full size it looks like

Great results Stan, looks like you've bought a very useful piece of kit.
