    Thanks Paul. I know exactly what you are saying. I am only thinking aloud here; when I had my excellent 300mm f4IS lens + 1.4iitc, I was OK as long as the subject was at a distance but the moment it came nearer I went out of focus etc. I agree that I cannot cover all my bases- unless I keep both my camera bodies ready- one fitted with the 70-200mm lens and the other one with the 400mm lens. I am now wondering whether any member has tried out the Sigma 135mm-400mm lens (not the 125-400mm lens as mistyped on another thread of mine).
