Canon EF 35mm f2 IS USM

    Anyone got this lens?

It gets very good reviews and has come down in price considerably since introduced a couple of years ago.

I'm looking for a fast prime and this looks like it would fit the bill nicely and avoid L prices!

    Hello Bob

I've got this lens and it is fantastic. It's usable straight from f2 and is very sharp.

I'm just getting into street photography and all of the images in this blog post were taken with that lens.

I also shot the wider photographs in this wedding shoot with that lens.

I picked up a second hand version in mint condition so it was even cheaper. Bargain!

      Hello Barry

Thanks for your response & comments about this lens. I do a fair amount of photographing art work and am currently making do with my 24-105L but need something faster.

Best of luck with your street photography - I worked in Newcastle between 1985 & 1992 - lovely area.
