Lens problem... But ONLY with my new 7d MK II

I have a 70-300 DO IS USM zoom lens which I bought about 3 years ago, and regularly used with my Canon 600D. I recently upgraded my camera to a 7d MK II and I gave my daughter the 600D.

The 70-300 zoom lens will not work properly with the new 7d MK II... It is constantly "hunting" for focus and if it does beep to indicate that it has found focus, invariably it's a long way out. This is not an intermittent problem.

I also use a Canon 18-135 zoom with my new camera, and that lens works perfectly well.

To confirm the issue with the 70-300 zoom, I borrowed my old 600D camera body back from my daughter, and the 70-300 lens works perfectly. If anyone has any suggestions I would be very grateful.

    Thanks very much.
