    Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Lens

I have a chance to obtain one of these lenses (new) pretty cheap, buit I read ....

As it is an "EF-S" lens, the Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Lens can only be mounted on Canon APS-C/1.6x FOVCF bodies.

    ..... I have a Canon 300D Digital - does this match up ?

    Thanks

Also - any comment on the LENS itself - reviews seem slightly under enthusiaistic about build/picture quality (I am a strictly amateur/occasional user - Mrs wants closer shots of the grandkids on the cricket field)

This is an excellent lens. I have got one. If your 300d has both a red and white dot on the lens mount of the camera, then it will certainly be compatible. If there is only a red dot,l then it will NOT fit. This is the simple test.

Thanks Mr Ramanaden - white dot on body just outside the mounting ring (shows on/off position of lens), red dot on mounting ring - not sure if that counts ?

Found some reference charts - it fits !

      Thanks your help.
