if so which t.c are you using i.e canon ,model needed,or kenko again model needed or sigma and again model needed

no need to reply with other cameras as i know it works on 1 series and 5D3 (upgraded) cameras

further to my pm, here are the two shots I mentioned, the first about 15 metres distant and the second around the minimum focus distance. In both cases the camera registered f9 and as said Af was retained

    7DII + Sigma 150-600 sport + Canon 1.4 x Mk II

Stan, how many AF points worked? On my 5D3 the contemporary plus 1.4 only the centre point works.

Just p.m Stan back ,got a mate bringing around a mk2 to try out later ,really need to confirm its a problem with the kenko HD and canon mk3 or a problem with my lens ,if it's the former the answer is easy just buy and sell.

I had no problem with the lens and kenko HD on my 1Dmkiii and all focus points were enabled so surprised to find it doesn't work at all on the 7d2 or 80D

Thanks Stan, still thinking about a 7D2 as replacement for my 60D.

Well that's now confirmed ,the lens and 80D work perfectly with the canon mkii 1.4 tc,so there must be something in the electronics of the kenko HD and canon mkiii that stop it from working,I am in touch with sigma re this and will forward my findings later .kenko on its way to e.bay later I,m afraid .

ah but tony the kenko HD when i used it with the sigma 150-600 and 1D3 utilised all focus points and modes .so i was rather peed off to find its not compatible with the 80d or 7d2 with that lens .i have notified sigma by phone and was asked to confirm in writing so they may do a software update in the future

                    Has anyone tried the Canon 1.4 Mk3 with the Sigma 150-600 (S or C) with a 5D3?

As per my earlier post in the thread.

5D3, contemporary plus 1.4 mk III. AF was a bit sluggish and only centre point worked.

Admittedly only did very brief test, didn't look at images either.

Update on this ,earlier this week after trying again without success to pair the signs sport and 80 with the kenko H.D ,I was about to send it the bay of E .
I then thought of a friend who had the canon mk2 1.4 tc and still used a 1D3 ,offered him a swop and completed it yesterday at least I,m now back with a useable t.c to take me to 840mm when needed..
A word of caution on this though it's not much use trying to obtain shots of birds etc further away with a combo like that as atmospherics come into play and will often lead to poor quality shots ,the best use is for when your close to the subject and to use it to fill the frame for better detail
