    Canon 24mm f1.4 L II

Has anybody had a chance, or maybe even own, the new
24mm f1.4 L II yet? It seems in very limited supply.

    Re: Canon 24mm f1.4 L II

I'll revive this post to see if anyone else has one as I've just got mine this week, (Yes I managed to find one!) and so far it's stunning! I've still got to give it a good workout yet, but I'm very impressed with it. It has a unique look wide open and the sharpness in the centre at 1.4 is remarkable! I had to apply +12 MA on my 5D2 as it front focussed a bit, but I've seen elsewhere that for some odd reason, it can do that sometimes on a 5D2, but not the 1 series. No worries though, that's what MA is there for and it does have razor thin depth of field even for a 24mm.

So, has anyone else got one of these beauties? I'd be interested in hearing anyone else's thoughts.

My very next lens -- Intend on purchasing it 1st/2nd qtr of next year --- Trust it will perform at least as well as my 35 1.4 -- Since I don't want to carry more then six lenses it will replace the 17-40 --- Since you already have one feel free to post a batch so I can ogle !!!

Here's just a couple of test shots showing the detail it can pick up wide open and it's thin depth of field.

Both approx 50% crops and the only post processing was sharpness setting 2 in DPP.

I'm very impressed with this lens!

Thin depth of field @ f/1.6

        Wide open @ f/1.4
