Canoscan LIDE35 and Windows 7 problems

I hope you can help - I have a new pc with Win 7 and cannot get my Canoscan Lide35 scanner to work with it. I have tried to download the updated driver from the Canon website, but the scanner apparently can't be' seen' by Win 7. What am i doing wrong?
    Thank you

    Mark,
I have a Canon LIDE 70 and run Windowa 7. The only way I can get the scanner to work is to use a USB port on the computer. If I use a USB Hub the PC does not see the scanner.

      Hi David
Thank you for the advice. The scanner only uses USB to connect and I don't have a hub. I will try a different usb port though to see if that solves it.

        Mark,
I just Googled Canoscan LIDE35 and Windows 7 problems and found that you are not the only one with the problem. However, there are appears to be a number of workarounds on different forums.
