New Canon Remote App 4th December 2013

There's an update to the Canon Remote WiFi App on iOS which includes a useful manual focus feature. You're now able to view a 5x LiveView image on your phone (but not 10x for some reason) and then use coarse, medium, and fine focus up/down buttons to obtain a perfectly focussed image This remote-manual focussing seems to work with all lenses and not just STM equipped versions.

Thanks for posting this. I'll add the information to the EOS magazine newsblog.

Just in case anyone is searching for it, the app is called EOS Remote, but it is from Canon.

Interesting! Does the app work on iPad as well... Or should I go and check myself?

Yes, it does, though only in iPhone mode.
