glad your finding his videos helpfull, make sure you watch the tim grey video as it will help you organise LR, something I never did at first and regreted it, took me a good few months to sort it

....Problem now is buying a standalone version of Lightroom.....

I bought Lightroom as a stand-alone from Amazon - as far as I can tell, this is still available.

I use Lightroom for the majority of my editing with the occasional bit of Photoshop and also editing in NIK software.
Once you get used to the controls its pretty easy to pickup, and there are loads of great tutorials on line.
