Lightroom 6. What do you think?

Upgraded a couple of hours ago and I love it.

Seems so much more responsive. The panoramic merger works well, although, I thought there would be a few more options.

cheers ...in that case maybe you could answer this as I just posted on another thread

has anyone moved from licensed copy to CC ?

depending on the features the new LR CC offers I may consider moving to it espceally as its looking like all further improvements will be on CC - but my concern is upgrading and making sure all the meta data and information I have on my current LR5 gets carried over to LR6 CC

Sorry not sure about the meta data, as I'm just a casual user and don't use it on a professional capacity.

I'm only an amateur but I still use the meta data its a great way to find images and one of the big features of LR - what about star ratings? and past processed information, did that get carried over ?

cheers but a few users have confirmed meta data is not lost - thanks for the link though

You said you paid for a standalone LR6.0 What site did you use. I have spent ages on Adobe sites avoiding CC and was unable to find the update from LR5 to LR6. Windows 7 64bit
I do not want cc as I use mostly LR and my latest 7D is mark 2. (Older versions of LR will not read the RAW files. although my LR5.7 does)

Larus - you follow the "Buy" link on the Abobe site then edit it to the upgrade version - it's really hard to find I'm afraid.
Try here (bottom of the list):

Just as an additional thing to think about, it's worth considering the cost of the standalone purchase against a CC subscription.
I mostly use LR but have found CC subscription to be good value, and it has the advantage that you get major version updates included.
So for example, if you pay £100 for standalone LR now when the new version comes out next year what will the cost likely be to upgrade again?

Also, if you decide to try Photoshop is a no cost option with the CC subscription.
Anyway worth considering the pros and cons of both options carefully.
                              Andy
