    Photoshop Short Cuts

    I tend to work in photoshop with my graphics pad to my right hand and the keyboard to the left hand. I learn't fairly early on that the shortcut keys do speed up the workflow and I tend to use them automatically, though I must admit, it did take a while to learn them.

    If it helps any other members, I list my normal ones below. I believe the same shortcuts are used in Elements and if you wish, you can go into preferences and assign your own shortcuts.

    Photoshop short cuts


    Ctrl L Levels Lighten or Darken

    Ctrl U Saturation Brighten or subdue colours

    Ctrl M Curves Alters contrast

    Ctrl O Fit screen If previously zoomed in

    Ctrl J New layer New layer from selection

    Ctrl A Select all

    Ctrl C Copy

    Ctrl V Paste

    Ctrl Z Undo

    Ctrl Alt Z Back further

    Ctrl H Toggle Hide/reveal “marching ants”

    Ctrl D Deselect Removes selection

    [ or ] Alter tool size

    B Brush

    D Defaults colour picker to Black & White

    F Toggles between screens

    Q Toggles Quick Mask

    X Toggles background & foreground colour

    Z Zoom

    Thank you very much for this. As I am in the process of acquiring PS this is perfect timing and will be rather helpful.
    My desk layout is the same a yours.......great minds...

            There are a whole lot more, but I posted these because they are the ones I use everyday and they print out on one sheet of A4.
