    Adobe price increase

Just received an email advising my cc subscription is increasing by about 15% ... as the monthly cost will now cross the psychological barrier of £10pm I think it's time to abandon PS and revert to an alternative solution ...

Snap. Apple photos with Luminar as a plugin is looking tempting...

I've kept putting off going for Lightroom/Photoshop, the only reason being lack of camera time recently so I've not really needed it, and I'm now likely to try Affinity for £48. In fact, if I'd been quicker off the mark I could have got it for £38!

I read it as you pay the old price until renewal, then it goes up. Have I read it right?

Well come June when they want more of my money, I will say thanks but NO thanks. I have LR6 Standalone and Elements 15, so that will do for me.

Hi Philip that is correct, you will only be charged the new £10.10 if you renew it.

Guess I'm lucky, only renewed a couple of weeks ago. Gives me time to look around at others.

Don`t get me wrong I do like the CC but for what I do, it is not worth £121.20 year in year out.

I bought Affinity for £38, haven't really got into it seriously yet, but I reckon that with it (and possibly DPP as well) I'll be able to do everything I need and more.

That was precisely my thinking, too.

I have also quit Adobe. The price increase is to much. If more of us did this then the price will soon revert. The old trick of blaming exchange rate. I think we have seen this before, many times. Do not be afraid to find other solutions.

Just quit my subscription too - not using it enough to justify any price hike.

Affinity is pretty good, and for the one of cost, it's a bargain compared to PS

Are you really saying that you cannot afford the price of a pint of beer a week for the use of two very capable programs?
